The gender committee of the IAE was constituted in September 2021. Its current members are Jordi Brandts, Matthew Ellman, Lídia Farré, and Esther Hauk.
The mission of the gender committee is to make the IAE a more inclusive organization offering a friendly and flexible environment for women to develop their careers. The committee aims to raise awareness of the disadvantages women face in academia and encourages balanced representation of female and male speakers in our seminar series. Additionally, the committee seeks to implement policies to prevent the sexual harassment of women within our institution. The committee works to identify women’s concerns within the IAE and to provide a safe space for women to share their concerns. For the 2025 International Day of Women and Girls in Science the committee organized a seminar on “Integrating a Gender Perspective in our Research.”
