Gender, Game Theory
Research Lines
Most of my research deals with issues that lie at the frontier between Economics and Politics. In particular, I study political topics applying tools from Economic Analysis and Game Theory. I have mostly worked on formal models of electoral competition and I have devoted part of my research to analyze problems generated by multi-level governments. I have also done some work on Social Choice, Learning, and Gender Economics. Currently, I am trying to cover other power related social and political problems, and in particular those that are originated by gender issues.
Short Biography
I am a member of the Institute for Economic Analysis CSIC (since 2001). My research has always been financed by the relevant Spanish and Catalan ministries either as a principal researcher or as a member of the research team. Most of my research deals with issues at the frontier between Economics and Politics. My publications can be found in specialized journals, rated Q1 and some top general interest journals, both in Political Sciences (American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science) and in Economics (American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory). I have been the director of the IAE-CSIC between 2018 and 2022. I have been a member of the Research Council of the European University Institute from 2013 to 2017 and chair of the same council from 2015 to 2017. I have been team coordinator for the Area of Economics of ANEP (Spanish National Agency of Research Projects Evaluation) from 2014 to 2017. I am an Associate Editor of Social Choice and Welfare since 2019. I have been a co-organizer of all editions of the Priorat Workshop in Theoretical Political Science from 2012 to 2016 and of the First Workshop for Women in Political Economics in 2018. I have been PhD advisor for several students of the doctorate program IDEA of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
