Short Biography

Ramon Caminal has been a member of the institute since 1989. He is also Affiliated Professor of the BSE. He has taught in Autònoma of Barcelona, Toulouse, Pompeu Fabra, and Oviedo. His main research areas are Industrial Economics and the Economics of Languages. Recently, he has been working on coalitional bargaining with applications to the of optimal merger policy, the performance of markets in which consumer preferences are subject to temporary satiation, on the reliability of search engines, and on the effect of language skills on the pattern of social interactions and on the intergenerational transmission of language.
