Short Biography

Josep M. Colomer joined the Higher Council of Scientific Research in 1992. His research is in Political Science and Political Economy. He taught at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and has been full time visiting professor at the University of Chicago, New York University and Georgetown University. He currently teaches at the Pompeu Fabra University. He is an elected member of the Academia Europaea and a life member of the American Political Science Association.

Most of his publications focus on political institutions, electoral rules, institutional change and European politics. He is the author or editor of eight books in English and near two-hundred academic articles and book chapters, published in six languages.

He has just completed a textbook for Introduction to the 'Science of Politics'.
